I began my teaching journey in a Reggio Emilia-inspired school, where I learned the importance of listening closely to children and letting their curiosity guide learning. With 13 years of teaching experience, including five years in Indonesia within the PYP framework, I’ve worked with students from diverse backgrounds, helping them develop critical thinking, social-emotional skills, and a genuine love for learning.
I believe in creating a flexible learning environment where students can take ownership of their learning process. I regularly reflect on my teaching practices to make sure I’m supporting each student’s individual needs and strengths, and I adapt my approach to ensure they feel challenged, engaged, and supported.
Working collaboratively with both students and colleagues is central to my approach. I’ve found that goal setting and reflection with students helps them better understand their progress and take an active role in their learning. I also collaborate closely with fellow educators to ensure that our teaching practices are aligned and that we’re creating a consistent, student-centered learning experience.
In an inclusive classroom, every student feels recognized and capable. I work to ensure that no matter the child’s background or learning style, they have meaningful opportunities to participate and grow. My focus is on helping students build confidence, set their own goals, and see their progress.
Throughout my career, I have stayed committed to fostering a positive, inquiry-driven learning environment, where students are encouraged to ask questions, explore new ideas, and develop the skills they’ll need to navigate an ever-changing world.
